Week 2

Ok so my New Years Resolution is not going according to plan. I thought I would be blogging more than Ihave been. Thanks Randi for getting me off my butt and blogging today.

As for my weight loss journey,its going very slowly. I remember my first week of Weight Watchers i lost a whopping 6 pounds the first week. This time doing by myself I have lost a total of .5. Yup 1/2 a pound. I think I may have to go back and do the WW thing again. I need that motivation.

I did go to the gym Saturday morning though. I walked (fast pace) 2.5 miles and then i did about 5.5 miles on the bike. Its very hard for me to get to the gym before and after work. I work 7am-6pm and have a 40 minute commute. My boss says I can use the treadmill while Max naps so I guess i will have to take her up on her offer.

I would also like to try to get into running. I tried on the treadmill at the gym Saturday,that was a joke! I ran for about 45 seconds and almost died. Maybe running just is not my thing. Robin any comments on that? LOL! Robin is my Marathon Runner friend.

So I guess thats it for now. I promise to do better with my blogging!

Day 3

The wedding went well yesterday. I actually had a great conversation with a person there who had recently lost a whole ton of weight. Let's just say well over 100 Lbs. I have known this person for a while but never really had a real conversation with him. He is totally an inspiration. I will not mention his name but he knows who he is. And I just want to thank him for my pep talk yesterday. I think he will be a great support system for me.

They did have a veggie table so I did eat alot of veggies. For the main course they had roast beef,mashed potatoes,green beans and some sort of baked stuffed chicken. I opted for the roast beef,a spoonful of mashed potatos and a lot of green beans. We were sitting with a ton of drinkers at our table and I always had a beer in front of me...oops!

I also went grocery shopping today. I loaded up on veggies and some fruit. Boy is eating healthy expensive. Any suggestions or hints for this is appreciated. I also got some Special K crackers 90 calories. They were pretty good. Had a coupon for $1 off 2 and they were on sale 2 for $5. I made a roast chicken today. I figured I can make a BBq chicken pizza tomorrow for dinner with salad.

Does anyone count calories? If so how do you determine how many calories you are supposed to consume? I am still trying to figure out how I am going to do this head on. I am just reallly trying not to have to take the Weight Watchers route. Way too expensive. Well I guess I am done here for now. Back to work tomorrow. Day 2

Today is day 2 of my weight loss journey. I haven't decided if I am going to update daily or weekly yet. Maybe I will just do it whenever I feel the need. I have a wedding to go to today and I think it is going to be a buffet. Uh OH! Oh no what do I do? I am going in with a plan of attack. I am sure there will be veggie trays being passed around during the cocktail hour. I will eat tons of veggies then and then when it comes to the buffet time I am hoping that they will have some sort of grilled chicken dish. I LOVE grilled chicken. I will stay away from anything creamy,fatty,etc. Wish me luck. I will update here tomorrow. Have an awesome day!

Day1

Ok so here I go. I am entering the wonderful world of blogging. I am making this my New Years resolution. A Facebook friend recently asked if anyone blogged. Myself not being a writer said no,but I would like to try. So then I seriously asked myself, What would I "Blog" about? Hmmm? I know I need to and want to lose weight this year maybe I will blog about that. So here I am letting everyone join me on my year long journey into weight loss.

I did do Weight Watchers a year before my wedding and I lost just about 30 pounds. Low and behold I gained most ok all of it back. This time I am going to try and do this myself. Mike and I recently purchased a Wii game system. It came with Wii Fit Plus and I recieved The Biggest Loser game. I have done both and really liked them. I did work up a pretty good sweat. So I think I will do those a few times a week. I am also vowing to drink lots more water and watch my food portions,any suggestions would be great!

I will be weighing in here once a week and updating everyone on how this is going for me. I don't even know if anyone will read this but I think it will help me. TTFN!

Starting Weight 198 Lbs 1/2/10
Short Term Goal 188 Lbs
Long term Goal 168 Lbs
Very Long term goal 135 Lbs (this I am sure will take longer than a year)
